ELECTRIC SEA
Ribbit, Seth, and Tristan spent the weekend at ELECTRIC SEA hacking on various projects.
Ribbit worked on SOAK* art and made tentacles.
Seth worked on their “Do Nothing Machine” with help from Tristan and Andrew.
Tristan completed PCB layout and routing for a personal lighting project.
Do Nothing Machine
Seth has wanted to build a useless machine inspired by the arm machine that reach out and reset a toggle switch.
The goal of this Do Nothing Machine is that the top platforms stays stationary while two lift platforms, and later other mechanical lifts, do a great deal of moving around.
After 12 hours of hacking with several false starts the hardware and software “worked”.
Final display included a dial indicator which shows there’s still quite a lot of motion on the upper platform, something that Z hopes can be removed with an active feedback loop in a future version.
